In New Delhi, India, the Super Blue Moon could be seen on the night of August 30, 2023, to the early morning of August 31, 2023.
So, what is a Super Blue Moon?
The Super Blue Moon is when the supermoon, which is when a full moon is at the closest point to Earth during its orbit (coincides with perigee) and so makes the moon appear a little larger than usual, overlaps with the blue moon. It should be noted, however, that a blue moon is not actually blue in color, as the term is only a definition of when we can see the full moon twice in a single month.
Even though I only got to see it in the nighttime, it was still fascinating to be able to see it especially because the next Super Blue Moon is expected to rise 14 years later, in the year of 2037. I guess I'll see my next Super Blue Moon when I'm 29!
